Will the ‘Six Wonders’ 😱finally be solved?
Traces of ‘legendary pilot’ Amelia Earheart💖
who went missing 87 years ago discovered.
A clue has emerged in the tragic disappearance of legendary American female pilot Amelia Earhart, which remained a mystery for 87 years. Attention is being paid to whether the clues to the incident, which is considered one of the six wonders of aviation along with the ‘Bermuda Triangle’, will be solved.
According to CNN on the 30th (local time), the possibility was raised that the wreckage of the plane Earhart was driving when she disappeared in 1937 was discovered. The investigation team of 'Deep Sea Vision', a company specializing in ocean exploration, posted on Instagram on the 27th, "We discovered an object that may be the remains of the Lockheed 10-E Electra that Earhart piloted at the time of her disappearance at 4877m under the Pacific Ocean. " He said.
This object was discovered on the seabed about 161 km away from Howland Island, a U.S. territory near the equator in the central Pacific Ocean, which was Earhart's intended landing site at the time of her disappearance. This company explored 13,468 ㎢ undersea terrain from September to December last year using an autonomous unmanned underwater vehicle (AUV) equipped with a sonar.
“Earhart’s disappearance is considered the greatest mystery of all time,” said Deep Sea Vision CEO Tony Romero, a former U.S. Air Force intelligence officer. “We have the opportunity to end America’s greatest story,” he said.
Earhart, born in Kansas, USA, in 1897, is a legendary pilot who succeeded in a solo transatlantic flight in 1932, setting a record for being the first woman to fly across the Atlantic in the shortest time. She was loved by her people, nicknamed ‘She is the First Lady of Heaven.’
In July 1937, when he was at the peak of his popularity, he attempted to fly around the world along the route around the equator and went missing. After an intensive search operation spanning 16 days at the time, the U.S. government concluded that Earhart crashed into the Pacific Ocean with navigator Fred Noonan in tow when she ran out of fuel.
However, as the plane's wreckage was never found, Earhart's disappearance remained one of the most famous disappearances in history, along with disappearances in the Bermuda Triangle until recently.
In 2017, a History Channel documentary suggested the theory that Earhart and Noonan died while being held hostage on Saipan after crashing in the Marshall Islands, 1,609 km from Howland Island.
In 2016, the International Group for the Recovery of Historic Aircraft (TIGHAR) reported that the remains of a castaway discovered on Kiribati's Nikumaroro Island in 1940 were similar in height and racial origin to Earhart's and that Earhart and Noonan were found on a reef in the Pacific. He made an emergency landing, but was unable to send a rescue signal and was presumed to have died.
Meanwhile, experts took a cautious stance on Deep Sea Vision's announcement. “It could be a plane, or it could be Earhart’s plane, but it’s too early to tell,” said Andrew Pietrotzka, an undersea archaeologist at the University of California, San Diego. “It could be noise in the detection data, or it could be another plane.”
David Jordan, president of the deep-sea exploration company Nauticos, also pointed out that the♥
“twin engines,” a characteristic feature of the Lockheed Electra piloted by Earhart, were not visible in the object found by Deep Sea Vision. President Jordan emphasized, “Because the sound is complex and the appearance of the plane may have been deformed after the crash, it is impossible to confirm anything with only the current image.”
Deep Sea Vision said it plans to closely examine the object for a year using a remote unmanned underwater vehicle (ROV) equipped with a camera for additional confirmation, and will also attempt to salvage it if possible.
Have a great day~♥
